Writers deserve better
Here’s how
content design
changes
everything
I know the grind…
You pour hours into projects that barely pay the bills, and every “we’ve gone with another candidate” email chips away at your confidence
If you’ve ever stared at your bank account after another low-paying gig and thought, “Is this really all my writing is worth?” — I see you.
The truth is, your words aren’t the issue. The industry’s broken model is.
But there’s a different path forward — one where your skills finally earn the respect, pay, and creative freedom they deserve.
At The Content Design Co., you’ll find clarity, practice, and the proof you need to step into content design with confidence — without burning out or selling out
I’ve been exactly where you are — and that path led me to Meta
Before I taught content design, I was the underpaid writer chasing low-paying gigs that never added up to more than scraps.
Everything changed when I stopped just writing words and started showing my thinking: strategy, process, and proof.
That shift opened doors to work with global teams at Google, bp, Citi, and Meta — shaping digital experiences used by millions.
But here’s the thing:
I didn’t come from a design school pipeline
My path started with a B.S. in psychology and two master’s degrees, followed by 15+ years of writing and teaching before I ever called myself a content designer.
So believe me when I say: you can do this too — with the right guidance, a portfolio that proves your process, and a community that has your back.
Here’s what shifts when you stop “just writing” and start designing
You’re no longer refreshing job boards and second-guessing every rejection.
You’re building the thinking skills that make your work stand out — learning strategy, structure, and storytelling that product teams actually hire for.
Then you turn that knowledge into a guided case study — not a cookie-cutter project, but a real piece of proof you can point to and say:
“I did this — and here’s how.”
Finally, you’ll learn how to present your work with confidence. Instead of hoping hiring managers “get it,” you’ll walk into portfolio reviews owning your story and your value.
That’s the journey: from unsure to unstoppable.
From chasing scraps to designing your rise.
The values that shape how I teach—thrifting, books, and feminism.
When I’m not teaching content design, you’ll probably find me digging through a thrift store rack for the perfect vintage find, hunting down used books with dog-eared pages, or getting lost in an artsy film that makes me think differently about the world.
Because here’s the thing: I believe stories matter—whether they show up in the margins of a secondhand novel, in a subversive indie film, or in the portfolios of writers who are tired of being overlooked.
That belief shapes everything I do. I’m a feminist who refuses to accept an industry that undervalues women’s work. I’m pro-Palestine, because justice and freedom aren’t optional—they’re essential. And I bring that same lens into content design: human-first, justice-driven, and unwilling to settle for scraps.
For me, this isn’t just about teaching skills. It’s about helping writers reclaim their voice, their value, and their place at the table.
